virtual conference grant

purpose

Because the 2026 annual conference will be held virtually, AALA is offering grants to cover the cost of conference registration. Multiple grants will be awarded. Specific travel grants will resume for the next in-person conference, to be held in 2027. The 2026 conference registration grants will reduce the financial burden of attendance by members and opens the opportunity to include new attendees.

ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS

  1. Any current AALA member, early career library professional, or student who is currently enrolled in an ALA accredited graduate program, or architecture student who is pursuing a career in librarianship.
  2. The recipients of the grant will submit a brief post-conference report to be posted on the AALA website. The report should describe highlights from the conference attendee's activities and experiences.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Complete the application form found here:  https://forms.gle/m4QMMmTcGxDUVY9t6, by Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm your local time.
  2. Send a current curriculum vitae to the AALA Awards Committee Chair, Lynn Kawaratani (lkawarat@andrew.cmu.edu).
